Default Weak OEM Sidewalls on "X"

Is it just me or does the OEM tires on the "X" JK seem to flex alot. I corner kind of fast most of the time and it seems as if the opposite side of the vehicle dives?

It is controllable but it feels as if the sidewalls of the tires are what is flexing. Does anybody know if replacing the tires with a decent aftermarket set makes a difference or is the suspension the problem?

How do you like the Maxxis Bighorns? I was thinking of getting them pretty soon.

I took mine off yesterday and I am glad. I would not even put them on a regular car. I my opinion they are not much better then a heavy duty inner tube.

I put on BFG 255/75R17, what a difference and really not that noisy.

Default I see

Yet another example of how they didn't bother to ask somebody who drives a jeep what they should put on one. I appreciate the pics. I had heard that the sidewalls were week. I just wanted to see in writing that changing the tires would reduce the amound of dive when going around courners before I started setting aside money to replace them.

Like so many others, I put on some BFG AT's(265x75x16) as soon as I could. My X came with the little 225's and I couldn't fathom those surviving anywhere off-road. They sure were quiet and smooth driving on pavement though... and probably got the best gas mileage of any tire because they were so light.

Yea, pavement and snow/ice they do fairly well. Offroad is another story...
