What is hiding beneath the area where these ARB switches have been added? Is it a wide open void, or is there some mysterious widget hiding under there?

Heres a pic with the center console out. Seems to be a small gap behind where they're mounted

Ya its the stock console that i painted black. The one in the front is the overlay that snaps into the console

That def comes apart a bit different then the 2011. On mine there is a dead space behind there, about 2 inches before hitting the outside of the center console. Still couldnt get the transfer case shift knob off though.
