What does camshaft sensor screw thread into?
Replacing the camshaft sensor on the driver side of the 2012 3.6L Wrangler.
Got the old one out, but when putting the new one in it's unclear to me what the screw thread into...the first time I tried to tighten it down it just kept screwing down into nothingness.
Presumably I need to line it up better, but...how?
Help??
Thanks.

there are threads in the head (under the valve cover) that they go into. Do you have the senor seated all the way down in the VC? It's kinda hard to get that seal all the way seated down in there. When you're screwing it in, do you ever get the threads engaged at all (you can't just pull it back up)?
Thank you for your help. I was able to get a better look inside and see the threads and get it seated and in place. I think what was messing me up was having the wires connected first; they put enough clockwise tension on the sensor top that when I then was applying even more clockwise turning pressure to the screw, the screw was slipping past the threads in the head. Once I saw the goal, and disconnected the wiring harness until after install, it worked out pretty well. Also, I need smaller hands.
