Default What is this Plug?

So I am installing a Cobra 75W under the glove compartment. I take out the glove compartment and... there is this phone type plug located on the top left portion of the glove compartment drawer. It has a thin cable going up toward the radio (I guess). Looked in the manual and did a search, but no luck.

Anyone know what this plug is for?

I wonder if it has something to do with the uConnect. Can you post a picture?

Here is the plug. As I said earlier, this is a phone plug, like the modem jack on a computer.

Your Jeep has the MOPAR FM Modulated iPod Interface.

I have the U Connect option w/ voice command on the RER Navigation radio (09). Don't know anything about an ipod connection. I've never seen anything on the radio to indicate it will work with an ipod. FM Modulated ipod interface?? How's that work?

edit: Just looked this up. Does it work as crappy as other FM modulated devices for the ipod?

Quadratec sells the kit: quadratec.com/products/96080_9002.htm I think the way it works is you plug a special cable into the glove box jack and the other end into your iPod. Then you tune your radio to a certain FM channel to listen to your ipod.

Why go spend money when you can plug into the jack on the front of the radio? iPhone, mp3 etc. I agree FM modulated tend to be crappy at best.

Does seem kinda silly when you can load everything onto the hard disk. I do like my ipod though. Certainly not worth the cost of a cable.
