Looks like a grounding strap to me. Depending on what it is grounding it could cause some strange issues not being connected.

We left one off when replacing the engine on a 94' Chevy pickup and until we found the disconnected ground, the gauges went crazy when you turned the key to accessory: the speedo and tac would climb to the max, and the odometer would roll like you were doing 120mph.

If you come up with issues in the coming days, then you will probably have to hunt a location to ground that strap to.

Happy Jeeping!

Thanks for the Input! I grounded it to another location on the fender. I'll just ask the dealer tech where it goes too then figure it out haha. Looks like I lost some windshield nozzles when I replaced it

Anyone know where the other connection for this goes to? One side is hood where does the other go? I tried following it but it went behind the firewall.

A ground strap connects to the passenger side of the hood. Is that the one your thinking of?

I bolted it to a bolt on the fender because the new hood didn't have a place to bolt it onto.
