what would clink noise be when in 4 wheel low be while turning steering wheel be
ive been having issue with a shimmy dw took it to dealer they replaced the stabilizer shock and aligned wheel but wheels wernt realy out they were within specs. I hear a clank or clink noise when I tried using 4 wheel low today turning on a bit of a incline its heard in forward or reverse at random but mostly when wheel is 3/4 turned almost sounds like a noise from the coil spring would make if you tapped it with a screw driver sound but im sure its not and its most likely whats causing my shimmy binding noise on snow surface too so not a dry turn id like to know so I can have them replace whats bad that's causing it !????? 19,000 on my 12 rubicon
tried recording it but motor noise is in way it goes clink clank as you go to drive forward or if you go backward its like something binds or stressing metal sound

in either direction the wheel is turned so its not like its coming from just one side realy I was just now in 4wheel drive high and turned to right started to accelerate and clank clank and when reversed a clink and twenty min ago when I turned wheel to left I heard it too so its something that's not just when wheel is turned one direction dosent sound like drive shaft noise like play in it . its something up front in the front end but not partial to one side its either directin I hear noises clink and clanks im betting its whats causing death wobble too they said every thing looks fine at dealers but its not sounding it and I still feel a wobble feel but so slight you cant say its a wobble now and a unbalanced tire as they mentioned dosent clink or clank at turning

Ujoints......they are constantly in motion, regardless of your speed or turning- they're moving. Play in the shaft there *could* (though not likely) translate into a shimmy since the yokes aren't making 100% contact with the caps. We trust you've also had your hubs (wheel bearing/ hub assembly) checked for excessive play?

yes it had dw they replaced stabilizer , and aligned said good to go I get home and hear these clink noises and when I rotated tires to rule that out as well when letting it down of jack I hear tinking binding noise too as it hit the ground seems both sides I cant see why both u joints would go prematurely this isn't wheeled it had 18,000 on it when I brought it in . im wondering if track bar is binding up when 3/4 turns are made sounds like my coil springs are creaking and snap (toink )
this is a 2012 rubicon bought brand new never wheeled and these issues ??? come on what the hell are these things my mothers car is stronger Pontiac sunfire 14 years old no problems I pay 32 and all I do is visit the dealers my driveways not paved is that off roading a rubicon lol geeze my mothers car goes through rougher terrain than my jeep

I have similar noise. I thought I would just replace my drive shift ujoint to rule it out. After pulling it out and putting on my work bench I realized it can't be changed, I would have to replace the whole ds. I would like to meet the head engineer that approved that design. He probably has stock in an after market drive shaft company.

https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-w...5/#post3375471 I will say this I don't believe the dealers will agree with the video in areas of interest ! understandable , concidering they have their own methods and Chrysler and dealership proceedures and steps are how they attack it ! I know it will be resolved so im not overly concernd , I know the old saying if you want it done right do it yourself but , I am under warranty and the dealer is helping get the bug worked out so im thankful the service manager seems very fair and proffesional yet not hard to get along with at the same time. and wants to resolve it . I just wonder what the clinking noise is myself . and a death wobble isn't anything to be to laxed about !! you need a dry place and two people to do those steps and proper tools . im not exactly equipped at this time ! Im not sure if a track bar would make a tink or clank like a creak into a tink noise
and again im sure I speak for many when I say we appreciate that type stuff you posted to help diagnose and get to the root of these issues that seem to plague the jks nothing was left un said in the video
