If you pull it off, start at the top. The top has metal clips that attach to the frame underneath. The bottom of that panel has plastic legs that slide down into slots.

That button panel is a part of the center panel. It all comes off as one piece from the radio surround on down. There are four small bolts holding the thing on. You'll see the two at the top when you pull the top panel off and the two at the bottom when you pull off that panel you were first asking about. The heater controls are all attached there so you'll probably want to disconnect all that to work on that lower area. Be careful with those heater control cables, they're not all that sturdy.

Although it appears from the outside that you could do this, once apart you will find that the entire switch bank is one piece. There is a circuit board inside the switch bank that also runs the entire length of the switch panel. It will be easier for you to put switches on that lower panel instead of trying to use that switch bank. Good luck.

Unfortunately , you can't. Those "switches" send a signal to the computer to switch something, they're not really switches you can use. Think of it more like a computer keyboard.

I totally agree. Use that bottom panel and don't even screw with the middle part.
http://www.cooltechllc.com/ has a nifty replacement lower panel with switches.

Per the picture I think he's referring to the very bottom panel. that pops in It needs to be removed before you can unbolt the center around the heat controls.
