Wheel lock question
I looked at all of the paperwork that they gave me last night. On the window sticker there is no mention of wheel locks. On the build sheet there is a box that says "Lug Locks" or something like that and it says "No." I have to assume it is something the dealer added and forgot they put on. So no code for me
did you pull out the jack and peek in there?
My dealer put the locks on mine. At 5k, when I went to rotate, I found out that I had a 4 matching lock lugnuts and a 5th one that didn't match the key. The fifth was on the front left tire. luckily (and I use the term loosely) the friggin odd locking lug was only HAND TIGHT!!!! And the fifth (matching) lock lugnut was in the baggie with the extra regular lugnuts.
yeah, I was real happy about that...

I lost my key in Feb, called the dealer and they said they could not get me another without the paperwork, which I didn't have, so I said screw it. If you have the original lugs and don't really care about the locks then do this.
Take a 12 point 3/4" socket, place it on the lock and GENTLY tap it onto the lug with a hammer. Then apply wrench and remove. As long as you were gentle they lug will easily pop out of the socket. Install the original lugs and your set.
The whole reason I decided to do this was because if someone can figure out that a basic 3/4" socket can remove the locks, whats the point in having them.

So there was a happy ending here. A week or two after my purchase the salesman and I played phone tag but never connected. I assumed it was just a pointless "How is it going" call so I didn't think twice about it. Yesterday he called and left a VM saying that he was cleaning out his desk and found my wheel lock key, which was the reason for his original call. Today after work I swung by and picked it up. Now I have the key and the original lugs and all is well
