Default Wheel/tire Set Up

HI everyone,
My Wrangler has the stock 17" wheels with the 255/75/17 tires. My question is if I want to add 16" or 15" rims, which tire size should I use to keep the same original ratio ( wheel/tire) ? Also I'm planning my winter tires purchase ( I know it's early...) and was wondering if mud terrain tires are good in the winter ? I imagine nothing beat a tire made specificaly to winter period..

Thanks for your help..

Mud tires are deadly on the ice. You can get by if you're cautious, just takes some getting used too.

OK, so I guess I better stick to winter tires...What about the BF GOODRICH mud terrain that the Rubicon has stock ?
