Default When to do 1st oil change?

Have 1000 plus km's on a 2011 JKU Rubi, is it too soon for a oil change? Have been using Mobil 1 synthetic in the past, but noticed the other day that it now comes in a 4.4 liter jug, so now I would have to buy 2 extra liters to get the 5.7 liters it needs. I think I will have to change brands. Gi

Not sure it can actually be "too soon"

Did mine at about 3,000 miles (half of what Chrysler recommends). I wanted to change it out during the break in phase and check it. At work we do this with new engines just to make sure that any little metal shavings from the break in are flushed out and don't scratch the engine. I am a firm believer that the two best things you can do to prolong engine life is to lubricate and cool.

I will do it soon, have heard different opinions on this, but I think I will change it later this week. Gi

For peace of mind, spend the money and do the oil change.

I agree. I did my first oil change at 2500 miles. I think the first oil change is the most important one.

Agree, the first oil change is the most important. I did mine around 2400 miles. I feel it removes metal shavings left behind from the build process and the break-in period. idk just my 0.02 cents either way it doesnt hurt the jeep

I did mine at 1600km. The less km assembly lube and metal shavings are in there the better.
