I replace my engine oil filter at every oil change. Costs $3 for a new Fram filter and takes less than a minute.

Replaced my engine air filter with a K&N filter so I clean it out with every oil change. But if you have stock filter, you'll want to change it every 15-30k miles depending on your driving conditions.

A lot of Chryslers fluid change intervels have changed. some are at 18000k before they recommend to do them. I would definately recommend you do them a lot earlier. the fluids they use have not changed in anyway.

depending on how you drive/if you tow etc (this is in kilometres)

5000k every oil change

50000k trans service

40 - 60000k diff services

these have been general intervels forever so why change now if fluids havent changed?

just personal opinion

My dealer told me that I should change my oil every 3k miles or so instead of the 8k that the manual says in order to keep the lifetime warranty on my engine but who knows

If you are having your dealer do your oil changes then I suggest you finding a new dealer. A dealership can not deny/void your warranty for following the manufacturer maintenance intervals. If you do it more often or earlier that is up to you.

"Your warranty will be voided if you follow the manufacturers recomendations"

Did you spit hot coffee in his face when he said that.

Are you talking about the oil filter or the air filter?

Here's another thing wrong with this. Nowhere does it say the dealer has to perform service work on any vehicle's manufacturers warranty.

If you have an engine problem (spun bearing, etc), they have to prove it was the oils fault (which they have tests for) or some other circumstance.
Meaning; wrong oil, improper service intervals, no oil, over heat, etc.....

They just can't say you didn't change your oil frequently enough, they have to prove it.

No, I change my own oil. I don't want to find a new dealer cuz my dealer just replaced my carrier and locker for the rear under warranty and my jk has aftermarket diff covers and 37's. They also gave me a free rental that I had for 8 days. I didn't spend not 1 penny for everything..and they also give me free details for my rig too
