My initial thought was head gasket when I first noticed it, but after I actually inspected it appears to be the timing chain cover because it's wet in front of the heads. What do you guys think?

Hard to tell from your pictures what we're looking at . Is it wet or oil? Proximity to Thermostat housing? Water pump? 3.6 or 3.8?

3.8L what you're looking at is the space between the accessory bracket and the heads. It's wet oil.

I've been under my 2009 JKU with 3.8L quite a few times and I'm still unsure what we're looking at.

Sorry guys, the pics suck. I'm 99% sure it's timing chain cover. The pics are taken from the top down standing at the drivers side fender.
