So I have bought a new 2013 JK rubi and have been looking at a complete black out. So I figured I would start with a simple cheap mod with stuff I have sitting at the house. Hope you all like.

I did this about 2 weeks ago with a can of nite shades I had lying around. Did grill marker lights, fender markers, tail lights and the third brake light. Love the way it looks nice work.

Sand and cost with a layer of clear cost or just use the night shade? I have done both and really don't know a difference!

Def check into your local laws. Some states it is not legal to do so, and some it can only go so dark. I have done it on most all the cars that I have had and I love the way it looks.

I just cleaned the lens really good with methyl hydrate and put 3 lite coats on. I have done most of my previous vehicles as well all the same way. Never had any problems.

Regardless of legal its a sure fire way to get the fault switched around in a rear end collision. For that reason I'd look at the anzo led tails

Very true. I actually know someone who had this happen due to his blacked out tail lights. Ended up being a very bad experience for him..

On 2 of my previous vehicles with the tail lights tinted I was rear ended. Nothing was ever said. That was about 15 years ago. Not saying It won't be brought up in the event of a collision I may have bean lucky. This is definitely a do at your own risk mod, the can even states for off road use only. I may look into replacing the stock bulbs with some brighter ones but even in the day light they are still quite visible.

Yes, I agree 100% and when I looked at the pic, I thought to myself, "Why on Earth would anyone want to do this?"
