who uses their side steps?
Just curious as to how many people use their side steps to get and/or out of their jeeps?! Stock or aftermarket. Getting in or out of the jeeps? Or do your wife/kids use it but you don't?
For me. ..I have the stock mopar side steps. Before I had a lift, I didn't use it, I would just step right over it. Came on the Jeep from the dealership, and figured the wife and kid would use it.
But now that I have a 2.5" lift I use it to get into the jeep, but I don't use it to get out.
I don't NEED to use it, but it helps to get in more comfortably so my shorts/pants don't get all bunched up and pulled on me.
What do you do?? And what kind of side steps?

I have the stock plastic steps on mine. I find it more of a hassle to use them and adjust to clear the steering wheel, simply because I'm not used to them. However my girlfriend and friends use them a lot. I won't get rid of them because they catch all the mud rocks, and road grime from spraying the side of the jeep.
The only time I use mine is when messing around with the soft top or freedom tops. To get in and out, never. My wife uses them all the time to both get in and get out. I have a stock JK Sahara unlimited, no lift. I also have the stock plastic black side steps. You know, a lot of people complain that getting in and out of the Wranger is hard or at the very least something needing to get used to. I'm the opposite, ever since getting in my first Wrangler I found it easier to get in than to my former sports compacts or sedans. I just slide right in, I'm 6'1" so the seat is right at my upper hip.
I have a stock 4 door with Mopar side steps. I use them all the time when tying one of my canoes down on to the roof rack.
I sometimes use them getting into the drivers seat, rarely when getting out. They can be a bit of a pain in the winter if you're wearing nice clothes and the steps are covered in road salt and cinders.
