Why Is the Jeep Community Worried
Don't know why the Jeep community is worried about the pending new Bronco. In my opinion the bust out of that vehicle is better for all potential new Jeep buyers. The advantages are;

- Perhaps JL&U Sports will have the locker etc options that a lot want but don't want to pay for the extra bling of a Rubicon. This is what Bronco is going to offer on their base.
- Jeep has proven that solid axles are better so the Bronco needs F/R lockers as it will always lift a wheel.
- Now that Bronco has a 2.7liter V6 TT (I have driven the pickup with this and they do go) then Jeep may actually offer the 5.7 V8 in all levels with manual or auto. I am really happy the Bronco is emerging.
- Jeep Gladiator already coming with Desert Rated which means softer offroad ride - here is hoping they offer that with all models now.
- Hopefully they offer a 35" package and suspension across the board. Their monopoly on making us buy Rubicon to get even 33" tires should end as some people want basic vehicle, wind up windows etc but have some extreme offroad capability.

I think the community is worried because that means fewer folks that will be wholly invested in the Jeep branding. I had a Bronco (three actually) in the past and I'd buy the new one in a heartbeat. I would daily the snot out of it and haul the JK around with it. I'm not afraid to admit it, I like it.
Totally agree. Competition is only going to lead to a better overall product. I really like the Bronco. I'm not sure I'd buy one and go do what I do with my JKU, but it's a cool looking truck, and some of the ways they've designed that are pretty good thinking. All sorts of interchangeable parts so you can customize every bit of it? Wow, rocket science there. Not only can you mod that to death, but Ford going to make a killing on selling more and more parts. I feel good about it hitting the market. I suspect those that don't feel as good just bought 2020 JLs. Still, it's a different vehicle in my mind.....kinda like the FJ to me. better than the FJ, but a different kinda vehicle than the Wrangler.
I had a 77 (back in 83) 302 and 3 on the tree Bronco. It was a very capable vehicle with the 9" posi rear. I plan on my next one being a JLU Sport Diesel with some options and was going to Tire, Suspension, Lockers, sway bar and gearing in aftermarket mode as the oil burner has the 44's diffs F/R. I think Ford, with the Bronco, are going to pull their same stunt that destroyed their GT500 Mustang market and that was selling (here in Calgary) from $52k list up to $85K back in 2006. I walk in those cases.
I wouldn't mind a bronco, I like roll up and no power locks and not all that other stuff that is expensive as options but doesn't make it go down a trail better, I like some of the off road Rubicon options, but not enough to get stuck with the other options I don't want .
Would be nice if jeep let you pick your options without having to get another package to go with it

It’s worried? Why?
The new Bronco looks nice, but they were around when I bought my first CJ and I don’t recall anyone upset then. I suppose if you just must have the latest new toy then I suppose it might be disconcerting but otherwise.....

As Sixty wrote, competition is good. And I agree with the sentiment of being able to buy a rig that moves you down the trail better without that luxury stuff--I really dislike power windows and door locks because they break if you keep vehicles long, and I keep vehicles long. Still have my 2007 JK at 269,000 miles, as well as a new 2020 JT Rubi, which has those power things, of course. I can live without them, and would rather do so. I'm not at all worried about the Bronco. I didn't care at all for any of the earlier models. Thought they were rather bland looking. But I do like this new one. Doesn't mean I'd buy it, just appreciate it. I look forward to some great years coming up in the automotive world--now, bring on the two door pickup again, and give us manual transmissions with V8 motors!
