Hi, guys!
My friend has a 2007 JK. Its engine died recently due to oil leak or smth like that. Dont know the details. He wants to replace it with the same 3.8 engine. He found two options: one engine from 08 JK and another from 09 JK. The servicemen told him that an engine from 08 or 09 JK wont fit on his 07 JK.
Is this true? If so, what is to be done to perform the swap?

 

They are both the same engine !

It will fit. What you need is all the Electronics and the CPU (computer) for the engine that you pick.
