Default Will a 2010 soft top fit a 2008?

I'm looking at soft tops on my local craigslist to buy. I have a 2007 jeep 2 dr rubicon and to me I would guess that any 2dr 07-10 soft top would fit my jeep. Am I correct or is there somthing I should know.

Thanks in advance.

Default not without buying replacement rails and hardware

i asked this a few months back, since the 2010 is redesigned and easier to fold

there is a difference in the rails and hardware - so it could be done, but would be pricey

Thanks for the quick reply. Looks like I will just try to find a 07-09 top.

the other thing to think about is I believe the header panel is different too... it looks to me like the loop in the windshield header for tiedown is farther to the left than it was in my 08 and 09.. which might cause interference in an earlier Jeep...

yes the tucking of the sides on the earlier jeeps was a pain.. and yes the top goes down MUCH easier on the 10.. but im still convinced the top is harder to put up..

it seems like I have to really pull hard to get the top material to streatch out and reach the front latches.. could be because my jeep was literally BUILT 13 days ago and still needs time...

im also skeptical about how the new top style is going to wear... meaning will the springs get weak and cables stretch allowing for excess noise, flapping, and potential leaks...

that all remains to be seen obviously as the 2010's age..

although if the cables strewtch and such it might be the ticket to a free new top just before the warranty expires

The one I'm looking to buy is a 2010 but comes with all the hardware to install. Does this make a difference.

the 2010 top no longer has the plastic rails that you tuck in above the doors...

instead there are cables and springs inside the top that hold the top nice and tight against the door surrounds..

makes the top much less unruly to fold down and of course no trying to tuck / untuck those plastic rails....

personally I never had issues with the side rails, but I could see where they would easily get bent out of shape or crack over time and be useless...

ive only put the top UP on my new jeep once since I got it.. so the jury is still out for me on whether it will be easier or harder to put the top UP with the new system compared to the original..
