Default Windsheild cowl question

Hey everyone, I just picked up a 2011 2dr sport. Once I got it home I noticed between the windshield and the hood, that panel looks dented and deformed. I can't tell if this is for water run off or this Jeep was crashed and fixed with out going through insurance. Carfax was clean btw. Thanks!

Might just be bad from the factory, if it was crashed and these cowl damaged it would have been replaced all together, I'd say something to the dealer u bought it from

My only though is someone could have paid to have it fixed with out going though insurance, maybe they cost cut and not replaced that.

But this doesn't look like anyone else's correct?

Yea that's most certainly not normal. The dented cowl from leaving your door straps off after removing your doors and re installing... Inevitable.

Someone has taken the cowl off, perhaps to run wires for lights and when they put the cowl back down they moved the nut/clip. When they tightened the screw to tight the clip pushed into the cowl causing the dent.

If it bothers you, you can remove the wiper blades and those 4 little screws and the cowl will come right off and you might be able to bend it back once you move whatever it is hitting below it.

Hey everyone thanks for the speedy replying. Well after I asked this question I took the 4 hex bolts out and discovered exactly what happened. Someone lifted the passengers side cowl with out un-bolting the wiper arms causing the panel to buckle. I'm going to see if I can straighten it back out. Thanks again, everyone have a great weekend.
