Default windshield

so, as you know, the wrangler's windshield have a tendancy to be a rock catcher. rather than other vehicles, where the slant helps deflect the rocks.

since it snowed like crazy up here in the pacific northwest recently, there's been a whole lot of sand put on the freeways. i now have 4 countable, sizeable chips, and one crack that keeps growing.

anyone know if the warrenty will cover a window replacement?

people tell me to ask, and there's no harm in asking, but im almost 100% sure they wont do that under the warrenty. bumper to bumper right? and the windshield is between the two

i dont think so but i think there is a road hazard insurance you could get with your insurance or the company who puts on your new windshield.

I absolutely recommend asking.
Even service managers need a good laugh now and then.

Then check your auto insurance. Your luck could be better there. A rep at my company told me, nope, not covered, but then I found out it was, with a $50 deductible. I got the difference back.

If a stone chip caused the crack its not a warranty issue. If there is no chip and it passes the pen test the dealer should replace it.

Chrysler would go (more) broke if they replaced every windshield from a rock impact, so you're not likely to have luck there. Your insurance may cover it though, some states require it.

It depends on your insurance co. I just switched to AIG (JEEP discount) went I bought my JEEP but just found out they dont even offer full windshild coverage in my state (PA), which I had at my old co. It is covered under my comprehensive $250 deductible for full replacement but they will repair the chips at no cost to me, glass co. is liking me get a chip-get it filled then they warrenty each chip aginst spreading and if it does they will replace windshild free of charge.

Like the others have said, it's worth a shot, but you'll probably have better luck with your insurance.

With my policy there is an add-on for additional glass coverage, I think it's less than $20 a year. From there, there is a $25 deductible to repair chips, and a $50 deductible to replace the whole windshield. Check your policy and see what they can do for you

This is JKgirls Jeep, ice flew off of a semi, and creamed our windshield.
We called the police and they pulled the truck over. Their Ins. co is covering the $245 for our new windshield.

100% certain the warranty will NOT cover the windshield. From the Jeep warranty as found on Jeep.com:

3.6 Other Exclusions
Your warranties don’t cover the costs of repairing
damage or conditions caused by any of the following:
• fire or accident;
• abuse or negligence;
• misuse — for example, driving over curbs or
overloading;
• tampering with the emission systems, or with
a part that could affect the emission systems;
• use of used parts, even if they were originally
supplied by Chrysler (however, authorized
Chrysler / MOPAR remanufactured parts
are covered);
• windshield or rear window damage from external
objects;

• any changes made to your vehicle that don’t
comply with Chrysler; or
• using any fluid that doesn't meet the minimum
recommendations in your Owner's Manual.
