Default Windshield Rust solution

Anyone know what to do about the black screws that are rusting on my windshield hinges? Looks nasty on a white jeep :(

You need to remove them & either replace them or paint them with an anti-rust paint. Common problem on many JKs, mine included (isn't too noticable on my black jeep, but on your white one I'd say it looks bad)

After you paint them wax them. I wax them all the time so after 4 years I have no rust on them!

I just picked up a white 08 a few weeks ago and had this same problem.

Unfortunately the rust stain had gotten to the paint on a few of the spots. I pulled all the bolts and sprayed them with a glossy black anti-rust paint from a spraycan. I then used white touchup paint to cover anything that I couldn't get clean from the paint. Looks as good as new and they should stay black for a while.

Mine looks like it's not the bolts, but the bracket that is rusting. I showed the dealer and they said they would cover it under warranty.

Take the torx screws out and hit the area with wax. That should take the rust stains off. check and see what is actually rusting and take care of it or you'll just see the problem again.
