This clay design study gives us the best look we've had yet at some of the new features and changes that should arrive with the JL.

Edit... Now that I saw all the pics, read the article glad the renegade grill is scrapped. Hard top design does look interesting.

The need to make it a 6 piece hard top concept for the 4 Door. No more Garage winches and hoists.I'll actually consider a hard top if they move to this concept. It will also make it easier to store in your garage if all the pieces are Flat.

1. Over driver piece (Flat)
2. Over Rear Passengers piece (Flat)
3. Over Storage piece (Flat)
4. Back window piece (Flat)
5. Driver side Rear window (Flat)
6. Passenger Side Rear window (Flat)

The rest can be changed with aftermarket parts like crappy side steps, Fenders, Bumpers...... etc

I'd say it looks pretty good. And still like a Jeep.

My first reaction when I saw the first clay model a month ago was immediate revulsion and concern about that grill... but I actually think the Renegade is cute and would love to have it as a backup, fun vehicle for around town economy, so the grill has become less offensive to me.

I love the look of the new hard top EXCEPT, the C Pillar rises up and goes around the door, so do the doors have full door surrounds built into the body? What'll that look like with the doors off or the top off? I love the panels setup and the over all modularity of the open air options, I can't wait until they give us a real reveal... maybe in January?

All in all, I would probably be willing to jump to that more modern looking Jeep without much concern. That being said, I know the grill will be different and that's fine. I want to see this as a truck now because truly, that's the only thing that'll move me out of my 2014 JKU.
