Default Keyed door -paint or replace?

Today my driver door was keyed, right down through the paint. Brand new JKU, less than 3k miles. Should I have the door repaired and painted or replace it.

I dont know a number on how much a new door costs, but buying a new one after getting keyed sounds very silly. Take it to the body shop and get it repaired.

Obvious answer is repaint it because replacing the door makes no sense. Wait for the forecast to announce a couple of nice days of weather and then just remove the door and drop it off at the shop of your choice. Because the paint is still so new they won't need to color blend, so all they need is the door.

I make decals, so I can hook you up with something cool to cover the scratch. Hey, it was worth a shot...

If you choose to cover it in any sense I would recommend using a filler to make sure the decal lays flat against the surface instead of falling into the scratch and looking funny.

imagine the same process as using spackle on a household wall after taking a nail out.

Repainting is the obvious choice and after getting quotes not so bad. I was thinking about the dude who scratched it paying the most absolute possible. Thanks for the sticker idea.
The door will be scratched much worse so replacing it would be silly. Thanks

So wait you know who did it? I'd make them pay for more than just the repair bill if you know what I mean

I fired the guy. I know who he is, where he lives, what his mom drives...
He was arrested on multiple charges. What happens to him next time I see him is not appropriate for this forum. I was just wondering really on the price tag of "restitution"!!

I would have him pay for it then knock him out and post a flex shot of your Wrangler wheel on his chest.
