A lot of custom work was done by Jeep Works forming the corners to fit the 6" rear stretch and the 38" Falken WildPeak MT's and the 38" Paddle Tires...

The Poison Spyder Flares were shaped to match the cutout and new axle position in the back!

Since we will be running a RIPP Super Charger and hammering the living Dog Snot out of this poor little JK, we are expecting the under hood temperatures to climb quite a bit over normal. We have selected a TOTL Heat Reduction Hood to aid with lower the under hood temps and add the aggressive style we are looking for on this build...

More to come on the build...

The JK is out of paint with all the body panels smoothed. Jeep Works did a great job matching up all the lines of the vehicle. If you ever want to have a Jeep built that requires some body work or are looking for something completely custom, definitely contact Jeep Works in AZ. They are the originator of the JKL Wrangler and can do just about anything.

Just for some good measure and fun in the Dunes, we had Skat Trak Tires make us up some custom 38" Paddle Tires.

Keep your eyes peeled and you'll see whats going on! It's not your average 3 link, we're always thinking haha.

For the Rock Racer Kits we will require a minimum WMS of 67 3/4, A Wheel Back Spacing of 3.5 or less for 37 to 40 " tall tires wether you are building a 2 door or a 4 door... We need this kind of room in order to get the coil overs and bypass shocks mounted in the wheel wells on the rear trailing arms.

For axles, we have chosen Dynatrac Pro Rocks Front and Rear. Dynatrac makes some of the best axle assemblies and housings in the industry. For this type of build, they actually make "Builder Kit" axles which are housings with ends welded on them to a specified WMS where you weld on the brackets you want.. This is perfect for this type of build.

For traction devices, there are many lockers out there that work very well. Since our Rock Racer JK will be driven on the street quite a bit we want to have selectable lockers. There are some great selectable lockers out there, some use air actuation, some use a mechanical cable, while some use a 12V power source. We chose the Eaton E Lockers for this build. They are robust lockers that work off a 12V power source. Their overall simplicity, the fact that they do not need another system to operate, and the fact that if you fray a wire connection, it can be easily field repaired make them our logical choice for traction aids...

For the gears, who chose 5.13's from Nitro Gear. There are many sources for gears around, but the quality and customer service from Nitro Gear has been great. We use them a lot on builds we do here...

Do to our tight time frame, RIPP came up to install one of their Pentastar Blowers on this JK. We cannot wait to see what it feels like with the gear ratio we selected and some BOOOST! The RIPP system is very straight forward, goes in very easy and can be done in a day by an average mechanically inclined person...

Here are a few sneak peek pics of the JK suspension installed..

Some of you have already seen the Jeep at the recent 4WD Hardware event this past weekend, but for the rest of you, this vehicle and suspension is making its debut at Off-Road Expo in Southern California this coming weekend. We hope to see you there!

More pics to follow the shop. We will be taking the rig to Glamis right after the event for its first shake down. We have already seen tons of areas for improvement in the back and cannot wait to bring this suspension to its fullest potential...
