The Gladiator Pickup Has Some Fun Easter Eggs to Uncover
Jeep's Gladiator pickup is loaded with nifty little details, some of which you have to search for.
Easter Eggs
Jeep is an iconic brand, with several iconic vehicles to its name. The automaker is also quite keen to celebrate that past with its current models in the form of Easter eggs. These fun little details are present on many new Jeep models, and we always enjoy seeing what the brand can come up with. Thankfully, the new Gladiator pickup is no exception to this rule, as we found in this recent video from CJ Off-Road.
Paying Tribute
The first Easter egg present on the Gladiator can be seen when you drop the tailgate, and it's a "419" that pays tribute to the folks in Toledo, Ohio who have had a part in producing Jeep models at that plant.

Dirt Bike Enthusiast
Next up, it's pretty easy to spot the pair of dirt bike treads in the front portion of the bed. Apparently, one of the folks who helped design the Gladiator is a big-time dirt bike enthusiast and perhaps thought that these would help folks more easily line up their bikes when loading them in the bed.

Willys Tribute
Though most folks replace their factory wheels, the ones that come with the Gladiator sport a small Willys emblem that pays tribute to the 1941 model that helped kick off the Jeep craze that we all know and love today.

Grab Your Tools
One cool little feature that we never really paid much attention to lies on the door hinges. There, you'll find "T50" stamped in the hinge itself, which is a cool way to let owners know what size bit they'll need to remove the bolts in the hinges.

Flip Flops
Moving forward to the front cowl, if you look closely, you'll notice a pair of flip flops impressed in it. This Easter egg is a nod to a longtime Jeep fan and veteran car journalist Rick Péwé, who is known for his love of open-toed footwear.

Another Willys
There are many more Willys Jeeps strewn throughout the Gladiator, including one located on the lower left-hand corner of the windshield, where you'll find an etching of the Willys MB. Designers positioned this particular Jeep so that it looks like it's climbing up the glass, which is pretty nifty, too.

And Another Willys
And if that isn't enough Willys references for you, there's another one that shows up in the gauge cluster when you cycle through the menus to the trip info screen. This time, it's a nicely rendered green version of the military hero.

Tiny Details
Rounding out this slew of Easter eggs is the Gladiator's steering wheel design, which features three prongs that are a nod to the Willys' three-spoke steering wheel design. There's also another an outline of a Gladiator on the automatic shift knob, which is pretty cool.
