I really want to love it but I have two problems. The first is more a function of where I live and work. I barely fit in my garage at home and I work in a downtown environment and need to be able to use the parking garages there...which can be hit or miss height wise. I thought I would have a little more room than I ended up with. The second is the wind noise. They designed the rack with two air deflectors...the one you can see on the front and a second that goes on the bottom...almost even with the roof line. With both of the air deflectors on the wind noise is actually really low. I used to gave a Garvin rack on a Land Rover Discovery so that is my only noise reference. The problem is that with both deflectors on the noise is super low but my top flaps. With the bottom deflector off the roof stops flapping but I get more hum from the front deflector...finally, with both deflectors off I get no roof flap but I more general wind noise...at least more than I care for. With a hard top this would be a no-brainer for me since I could run both deflectors but with the soft (and as my DD) it is more than I like.
I would be glad to show you but I literally just took it off and put it on Craigslist! If you want to see any more pics just shoot me a PM and I can email some to you.

Living and having traveled extensively in North Western Canada... I highly recommend that if someone is even considering traveling this way... that they do it.

Great pic and great looking build! Fixed your image for you. Offroad Elements makes a super high quality limb riser. Anyone who has these will likely attest to that. If you have a different top-mounting solution (instead of the available brackets for mounting to holes you drill into the windshield frame), contact Eric and he'll adjust the length and parts supplied to your specifications (and maybe save you a couple shekels). <img src="https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=599184"/>
Thanks Mark.

Some of you may know the acronym KISS to stand for “keep it simple stupid.” My KISS build puts a twist on that saying and stands for “keep it somewhat simple,” as we all know how hard it is to leave a Jeep alone. My last JK was built up nicely, but my wife hated it and it was not the most practical setup. Since this is my daily driver, and I do not get off road quite as much as I’d like, I am keeping this one fairly simple.
My main goals are to retain comfort/fuel efficiency for everyday use, enhancing off-road capabilities, and not introducing any factors that might compromise reliability. Extreme rock crawling and off-road playgrounds are not in my future, and I would love to eventually get into long overland type trips. With that being said, for now I am focusing on building it more towards trail exploration and weekend camping/mountain biking trips.
It is not finished (probably never will be), but rather a work in progress.

I'm loving this thread. I just wish I knew more places to overland/expedition up here in PA. I love the idea of over landing and off-roading to get somewhere instead of just going up the trail.

I got the roof rack for Christmas to use for snowboards in the winter and camping/kayaking stuff in the summer!

Love your setup. What lift and wheel/tire specs?

Looks like I am about to start my expedition build over. Trading in my 08 JKU X for a 15 JKU sport. Just ordered it today. I am taking all my goodies that will fit on the new one. Very excited about the 3.6, and zero miles as opposed to the 97k on the 08. The wait is going to be brutal!

I got the base sport model. 6 speed manual, max-tow package, 3:73 gears, tru-loc rear axle, and half doors! Also going from flame red to bright white. Ordering half doors if funny, all salesmen think they can find one. Hard to convince them its an order only option.
