10th anniversary nightmarish MPG... Please advise.
Guys, long story short...
Owned jeeps for 20 some years before buying what I found to be the worst ever SUV on gas in the form of the Land Rover discovery Series 2. That thing was getting between 10-12 mpg. I sold it after 4 years of ownership, thinking that I would never buy a vehicle that bad on gas ever again.
Fast forward to my 4 months old 2013 Jeep JKUR 10th anniversary with now about 2500 miles.
Stock suspension, 3.73 gears, 33 inch 285/70r17 Duratracs inflated to 36psi, speedometer corrected with flashcal and calibrated with a high end GPS (needed to set my tire settings at 31.5 inches tall for speed and mileage accuracy).
I drive it like a grandma, start slow and always keep it in the ECO mode to try to get the best mpg possible.
It is winter with winter gas, I keep warm-ups at a minimum 2 minutes max. drive 70% city traffic and 30% highway.
For an unknown reason, I cannot for the life of me get any better than 11-12 mpg !!!!
I insist on being extra careful to yield the best mpg possible. Reading about guys on here with 3 inch lift and 35s getting 16-18 mpg gives me nausea !!!
Makes me feel like the brakes are stuck on, or I'm pulling a parachute or something.
I didn't buy a Jeep for the fuel economy, but was suppose to get at least 15-17mpg.... In fact, my brother with a 2013 sahara, 3.73 gears, Teraflex budget boost and 33 inch Duratracs is getting the figures I was expecting.
Have they found anything wrong with some jeeps that would explain what is happening to me ????
I did notice when my brother and I were at the dealer, getting our tires installed, I spun my rear right wheel while the Jeep was jacked up and I could hear a constant clicking, while my brothers Sahara didn't make that noise. I figured it must be the lockers and didn't bother asking questions.
Please help me correct this.
thanks!

^^^agree with the above. The computer may be off. Assuming you have accurately hand calculated it, that is definitely way low. You should at least be in the 17-18 range.
I've never heard a clicking, but doesn't mean that it isn't normal.

My JKU with 275/70R18 (33x11), Auto, 3.73, & Procal is getting 11mpg in town right now on winter gas. Yes, it sucks. Summer gas I get about 13/14mpg in town and 19mpg on the highway.

Granted I have a 2 dr 2011 with 3.73 gears, 255's at 37, heavy bumper and winch with automatic. I'm getting around 15-16. With higher rate of coils, spacer kit and no lower front air dam. It does vary because I can be hard on the pedal. The mpg gauge in my opinion blows. I clear out my mileage gauge everytime I fill up.
