I have a 2 door 2012 with a bds 3" lift

Not sure if we have the same lift...

Great thread, I've had all the same questions

I don't think I'd goto 37's unless I at least replaced the front axles

no additional height is needed to run 37's. 3" is plenty.

Yeh after talking to a few locals in some Jeep clubs and shops, everyone is in agreement that I should not need anymore lift.

Next will be a full set of adjustable control arms, just in case I decide in the future to add lift, and of course increase my off-road performance.

Also still need to need up the front D-30, will be changing the shaft to a chrome- moly and adding gussets. Most say do that first, but as long the stock are holding up, I see no reason to be in a rush to change it. Will also be adding new ball joints when I move up to the larger tires.

Stay tuned

Another step completed, just got home from 4 Wheel Parts in Miami, had a full set of " Currie" adjustable arms installed. Getting very close, next step will be some axle upgrades.

New chromoly axle shafts, front and rear
Complete set of inner "C" gussets
New heavy duty ball joints

After the above is completed, hopefully by April, I will then start saving for new wheels and 37's !!!!!

Thanks for looking and my thread and keeping up with my project.

Cheers

OK I know that this is a topic widely discussed, but I really want to post my plans and see what everyone thinks. As the title says I am planning on going to 37's once my 35's need changing. I don't do any hardcore rock crawling, just some trails and mudding every once and a while. I am already set to trim the pinch seam and get some Bushwhacker flat flares. My main questions right now is the added lift needed I will first tell you all what I am currently running,

Current lift: 3 inch BDS lift with fixed lower arms front and rear, uppers are stock
1/2 inch Teraflex coil spacers
JKC adjust track bars front and rear
Rear sway bar ends are stock
Front sway bar ends came with kit and are adjustable up to a 6 inch lift
4:88 gearing

What will be added: Teraflex 2 inch spacers, replacing the 1/2 inch ones, this should give me exactly 1 1/2 inches over my current set up.
Bilstien shocks
New extended brake lines
New drop pitman arm
Front Dana 30 sleeves and gussets

And now for my main question, can I get away with just getting adjustable upper arms, or do need all arms changed out?

I will change front drive shaft if and when it is needed.

So anyway those are my plans, what do you all think, have I overlooked something, can I get away with less work? Any of you comments and suggestions are appreciated, the work will more than likely be done in steps as I will not be able to float all this In one shot and my 35's are in great shape.

Cheers
you already have more than enough lift and your 4:88's should be fine.

if you off-road it medium hard or so, then axles become your weak link...

Well another step down in my quest for 37's, just had some EVO C-Gussets welded in. What a difference, you can really tell that a lot of steal was added in the area. Hear are some before and after shots. I apologize for the poor pic quality, but you can sure see the difference.

Before stock Dana 30.

Next step, having Nitro Gear axle sleeves and chromoly axles installed in two weeks.

Cheers

Exactly what I was planning when I was going for 37s plus a truss and ball joints.

C gussets look good. Congrats.

Id ditch the drop pitman and do a high steer kit also. It helped my handling a lot.
