Recommended tire pressure
I realize there is an element of personal preference involved, but generally speaking, what tire pressure should I keep my 315/70/R17 Goodyear Duratracs at?
JKU with a 2.5" lift and 4.56 gears. I'm on the road 90% of the time and can air down when I hit trails.

27-32 psi. Like anything, preference. Goodyears are typically softer so you can run them on the higher side and till have some comfort. My buddy runs his GY Dura's around 37 and it seems to be too much. I have Nitto trails and run at 27.

Chalk trick is the way to go. You make a line across your tread on ur tires and drive the car a short distance, enough to do about 5 rotations of the tire, maybe 7. Look to see if all the chalk is gone or at least worn away evenly. If your running too low of pressure your center will be "sunken" and you will have more wear on the outside. If too high of pressure your center of the tread will bulge out and the chalk will be worn away from the center and not edges.
When u do this just drive and accelerate slow, go in as straight of a line as you can.

We typically run a 2 lb split front to rear, so 28-30 psi in the front and 26-28 psi in the rear of a tire that size. More pressure in the front due to the weight of the drivetrain.
