VKS Prerunner Rock Sliders
These things are badass, frame mounted, heavy duty and the welds are just gorgeous. Mounting them by yourself is a pain in the ass because they weigh about 45 pounds a piece. Good price and look great. Definitely would buy again. They also work with most long arm kits if anyone is going that route.

Reidsjk, those VKS prerunners look great. I ordered a set for my JKU and should be receiving them soon. I really like how you have the inserts a different color. What is your suggestion for protecting the metal, did you end up doing it yourself or sending to a local place?

I drove to VKS Fab in Fresno and David (owner) made me custom "The Standard" rock sliders for my 2-door:
1. Lowered the angle from 45 deg to 22.5 so I could use it as a step.
2. Lengthened the entire slider to stretch from front wheel to rear as the normal length looked a little short to me. Made sure they cleared my 37"s.
3. Added a third welded cross member to frame for extra strength (2-door normally have 2, while 4-door have 3).
4. Added third "V" (2-door normally have 2, while 4-door have 3).
5. Flipped the "V"s so the points are pointed up.
6. Welded a blockout plate behind the "VKS" logo cutout to prevent moisture into the end boxes.
I used a whole can of Rustoleum metal primer and Rustoleum "Stops Rust" semi-flat black.
