They make good hand winches if you're in a tough spot but it's not the way you want to get yourself out routinely. Mine lives in the garage until I'm stuck in a sticky spot.

They are only good when you need them.
I generally try and wheel with someone that has one so I don't have to carry one.

I used mine a couple of times to get off rocks rather than use my winch to drag my undercarriage on them. I also had to change a flat once. I have the 48" and I feel the 60" is more effective getting off of rocks.

They're good when you need them. Using them to change a tire, on a lifted vehicle with lots of axle droop is almost worthless. You're still better off with a scissor jack under the axle tube.

I've used them to lift a Jeep off of a rock or to pop the bead on a tire to fix a broken valve stem. I carry one because it fits on my tire carrier and it out of the way.

lol I've used my hilift more times than I could even count to... if you actually wheel, you'll need one. Unless your shit is built far past your needs.

I carry one when I off-road, but have never used it and hope I never have to. I carry a bottle jack and a wood block for tire changes; safer and less hassle

Defently not just for looks! Used it yesterday to get some rocks under a tire to get me from dragging bottom! Sometimes you go a while before your use it but when you need it you feel brilliant for bringing it.

Default i carry the 42 " one hi lift jack

from cabela UTV-424 toss it behind the drivers seat upright,, stays clean and if i had to winch out it might help, same ratings as the taller ones just shorter easy to store but good enough in a pinch seeing im not lifted & no bumper winch. Also Get arb recovery straps the strong ones for that unexpected moment .Plus i just like the looks of it looks like im going somewhere i might need it .

I've had the same HI-Lift for years and only needed it a couple times. The last time I used it was to remove the doors because my hinge inserts needs to be replaced.
