Default Hi-Lift Jack Mount -- What do YOU think

Hey guys -- just purchased a hi-lift jack....I went ahead and bout the 60" jack, and I'm trying to come up with the best place to mount/set-up. Is anyone running the 60" across the hood? And if so, do you have any pics of it? I'm wondering if I need to exchange it for the 48", but the 60" was just as good of a deal (like $5 more). Help me out, thanks!

My 60" across the hood. Any certain angles you want to see? I can get better pictures after work from different angles etc.

Awesome -- thanks -- do you have a straight on shot? I'm kind of wondering when mounted to the hood how much it hangs over on each side? Also, which mounts are you using? Thanks again!

Until dgnr8 gets you a pic straight on, here's a pic of my 48" mounted on the hood that should help you get an idea of what the 60" will look like.

You can read the write-up here.

Not on the hood, but you'll get an idea of how much overhang you might have, if any. Mine's mounted on the OR-Fab Rear Tire Carrier. Reason I have it more towards the Driver side is to offset the weight of the jack on the passenger side.

Is there any added wind noise to mention with it across the hood?

First of all, nice set-up and awesome write-up. Bookmarked it in case I go with that mounting system. At this point I'm really tempted to go back to the 48" since the over-hang on the other post makes it look like it's going to be over on each side quite a bit.

The mounting brackets are from River Raider.

The jack doesn't really hang over much. I was worried about the same thing but the length doesn't have a negative impact on anything i've driven through or that i can think of driving through. The only thing that i didnt expect was how much the base covers some of my Windhsield light. But that's not that big of a deal, i still get plenty light out of it.

Here's a shot with my old 48" jack. I realzied after i bought the 48" jack, that it would be too small so i exchanged it for the 60" i have now that you see in the snow picture.

Awesome -- thanks for the pics -- if you do get time later, I would like to see what the 60 looks like from the front, it'll help me make my decision..although yours seems to look ok.
