As promised -

The jack really doesn't stick out that far on the driver side, i think the angle makes it appear that way. But they don't stick out nearly as far as your side mirrors.

This is a shot from the back seat. To be honest, the only issue with seeing out is maybe the right front end and negotiating right turns, like my garage. I like to park really close to the right side and now i have to lean forward a little to see over the jack, no biggie - just thought i'd throw that out there. Also you can see how my KC light is partially blocked by the base of the jack like probably 10% which is not that bad.

As far as wind noise - none really. I do hear the bang bang from the base rattling when i hit big bumps but again, thats no biggie just a manly sounding jeep doing jeep shit.

I always had a question about this, in general (not just from a front mounted hi-lift). How do you guys keep the CLANK CLANK of the base rattling down? A colleague recommended to get some ice cream sticks and wedge it in there . I have a couple of zip ties holding the base as tight as can be had, but it still rattles. Not a big deal, but sometimes, it's nice to not other noises around so I can keep an ear out for "regular jeep noises and rattles" .

Good question. I really haven't tried to eliminate it yet. I wonder if that neoprene boot would help? I might Zip tie it as well. In the picture you can kind of see my little black Zipties holding the bar into the jack. This is temp until i buy that isolater thing.

In Louisiana we'll use both an axe and a shovel to dig up sassafrass roots (we can make our own root beer) or just to hit a gator across the head. "Shoot 'em"!

But really, thanks from me too for the pics. Like them red bezels!

I think having it across the hood with lights on the windshield frame would suck!!! I would hate the glare But if you don't plane on having lights mounted on the windshield frame than I guess it would be a good place for it, providing you dont smash your hood

I don't like the idea of it on the hood either. I'm going for this:

No doubt, putting the Hi-Lift on or taking it off is a two-person job.

For comparison purposes, here's a shot from the driver's eye position with the 48" lift. I would think that the 60" would be a little bit better because it pushes the base further out of the driver's field of vision.

I agree. That is the reason I have not mounted windshield lights.

Thought about that, but not sure. Didn't want to spend $30 or so and it still rattle . Oh well, guess I can live with it.

The boot is available on Amazon for $21.62. Probably a good investment if you leave your jack on the vehicle all the time.
