There wasn't with mine. I now have an axe/shovel up front and the Hi-Lift on the spare tire swing gate and there still isn't any noticeable wind noise (above what you'll experience in a Jeep anyway).

I wish I knew where because I could sure use some to pay for my Jeep habit!

BTW: Just used the shovel last week for a couple vehicle rescues. And will probably use it again tomorrow with this big storm we've gt blowing in tonight. Axe sees less use--primarily as a hammer to drive boards under tires of stuck vehicles.

LOL d*ck!! - the comment itself made me lol and seeing you're from Louisiana, you guys aint digging for sh*t down there.

I need another shovel "mine broke" and axe for our camping and beach trips. I was on a beach trip last year and had to chop some wood for a fire. The chicks were all digging me for being all manly and stuff chopping wood. Comes in handy for many outdoor manly purposes!!

I cannot help thinking whenever I see someone with a hood mount for a Hi-Lift what would happen if you inadvertantly dropped it while putting it in the mounts or taking it out of the mounts. Good luck.

There is always that risk.

I wanna mount mine on the hood as well but I'm afraid it might fly through the window.
