Starting from a stock Sport S I will be buying an AEV DualSport XT 2.5 lift to go with a set of Falken Rocky Mountain 35x12.50R15 on 15x8 Black Rock D-window alloy wheels.

Anyone want to offer an opinion?

I research things to death. I'd like to call it a hobby but it really becomes obsessive. I have the money but I was waiting for backup money. Then I saw DTD has a deal going down where I get a $100 visa card for both tire and wheel purchase that ends tomorrow so an extra $200 sweetened the pot.

I want the Falkens cause I run desert with pointy rocks and freeway. In my research they are tough in rocks, amazing traction and quiet on the road. Heavy but I'll sacrifice weight for durability and traction. I've read they aren't great in heavy mud but that just doesn't happen much in the desert.

I want the Black Rock d-windows cause I am looking for a wheel that doesn't look like it belongs on a street car. I also like the contrast between the tungsten ring and the black hub. I'm thinking I want a 15" because it's a ten lbs difference between a 35x15 and a 34.5x17.

The AEV 2.5 DualSport XT is a bit of a wild card but I really want to stay low COG and prime DD with a solid trail crawler. I've heard this is the package. I was tempted to save cash and go TF but I think the upgrade in ride will be worth the extra cash.

Where I'm a bit lost is rim width. They offer an 8" and 10". The tire suggests an 8.5 to 11. I know the 8" fits the JK without mod, the 10" is the same BS so I assume it would fit too. I have know idea other than speculation that the 8" is supposedly better at low pressure holding a bead.

My friend just went to falkens and he Is already looking for another tire. They are great on highway but when it comes to some sketchy parts on the trail he burns them up pretty good. We mostly trail out in desert terrains out here in Vegas. Just my $.02

What would you suggest? I already lost a sidewall after less than 1000 mi to probably a cactus on the stock SRA. It was a slow leak pin hole so I'm having doubts that I did it on a rock. I'm SW Vegas.

Take a look at the nitto trail grappler. Aggressive Offroad relatively quiet on road. I know that some will disagree but I would look at a 17" wheel. I know you are probably trying to save a little money going to a 15" but the guys in my group that did that end up swapping out for 17's. They complained about the ride on 15's.

My only advice is to find an aggressive tread tire that will work for you. Too many guys in my group have bought nitto Tera grapplers to save a little money only to end up selling them after a few months to buy a more aggressive tire

You will simply LOOOVE the AEV DualSport XT 2.5 lift ... (Get the lower control arms relocation brackets )

I Love that kit ... most well thought and engineered suspension kit I've ever tried and the only one that actually rides and handles better on road than the factory suspension. Off road : It's simply a blast !
