Alpine Wireless Apple CarPlay Head Unit

An all-in-one media center and more for your next Jeep build.

If you’re looking to upgrade your Jeep’s stereo and add some high-end, factory-style features to your build, look no further than Alpine. Their iLX-107 head unit is here to add modern functionality to your Jeep. Let’s break it down.

The first major feature is wireless CarPlay capability. Until now, CarPlay users needed their Lightning cable to connect to CarPlay features. The Alpine iLX-107 allows you to control CarPlay functions with the unit’s 7″ touchscreen display. It accomplishes this by pairing to your Apple device with a 5 GHz wireless connection.

In addition, there’s built-in functionality for what Alpine calls iDatalink Maestro, which will connect to your vehicle’s OBDII system and display gauges on-screen, showing real-time vehicle data. Not only is the iLX-107 a wireless CarPlay interface – it can function as an extra gauge cluster as well.

Additionally, various vehicle accessories can be configured to be controlled with the head unit, from light bars to motorized tonneau covers and more. Naturally, the iLX-107 is also an incredible stereo receiver. Alpine’s reputation is built on being one of the best car audio companies in the business.

All in all, it looks like the Alpine iLX-107 can be an all-in-one media center, as well as a convenient way to clean up your dashboard. Imagine how clean your Jeep’s cockpit would look without an excessive amount of extra switches and gauges!

It might be easier to ask what the iLX-107 can’t do. All of those functions, however, don’t come cheap – expect to shell out around $900 for one. That said, if you want simply the best in infotainment in your Jeep, look no further.
