ExtremeTerrain JK

Blazing 2010 Jeep Wrangler JK has the perfect blend of daily drivability and off-road ruggedness thanks to parts sourced from ExtremeTerrain.

It is hard to believe that anyone actually has a stock Jeep Wrangler JK. These rigs are just too much fun to modify and the aftermarket support for them is tremendous. One place to shop for your aftermarket Jeep needs is ExtremeTerrain. Some folks want to build something wild, and others might just want something mild.

The only limits are your imagination–and your bank account balance. The build we have here strikes that perfect balance between being off-road ready, yet not so extreme that you can’t drive it every day.

This Jeep is owned by Johnny Burgos, who has meticulously built himself a very nice JK. His build was recently highlighted on the ExtremeTerrain.com YouTube channel. Host Merideth Evasew hops on a video call with Burgos to go through all the details of his build and the inspiration behind some of his changes.

If you are looking to modify your Jeep, this video may give you some ideas you can apply to your own build.

First up Evasew asked Burgos about his lift and wheels and tire setup. What Burgos has is not really a lift kit per se although it does increase the ride height a bit. He is running a Teraflex 1.50-inch spacer leveling kit. He is riding on 33-inch Mickey Thompson all-terrain tires on a set of 17-inch Pro Comp wheels.

Burgos says that with most of the local off-roading that he does, this setup gets him through everything just fine. Because he does daily drive this Jeep, he didn’t want anything too extreme.

Now let’s talk about armor. Upfront Burgos has a DV8 off-road FS-11 steel mid width front bumper with LED fog lights. He also installed some skid plates up front. He also installed some Smittybilt side cladding which looks great. Under the cladding is a Rugged Ridge rocker guard.

Out back is a Barricade bumper and tire carrier. The fenders are also from Smittybilt. It is their XRC flares. He also has a couple sets of KC 3-inch cube lights mounted around the Jeep.

Time to take a look at the inside. In here you will find a couple minor visual modifications such as the gear shift knob and handbrake handle. He also has a Tuffy under the seat lockbox. Burgos drives his Jeep without doors and a top for most of the summer. The under the seat lockbox give him peace of mind that his belongings are secure.

Other than that, there is not much work done on the inside. But that doesn’t mean things are not being planned. The Smittybilt Overhead Console has already been ordered. Other future mods include a new muffler and a cold air intake. He also plans to upgrade his lighting with a lightbar and some larger KC 5-inch lights.

Burgos has a nicely built Jeep already and his future mods will only improve it even more. “That’s one of the coolest things about Jeeps, everybody has their own look, and you make it your own,” said Burgos.

We could not agree more. Checkout the video for a detailed look at all the upgrades. It may get your creative juices flowing.
