Overland Everything In AEV’s Outpost II Jeep Wrangler

By -

Jeeps are meant to go off-road and explore. Now with AEV’s Outpost II you can off-road and camp without leaving your Jeep.

The Jeep Wrangler and camping go together like peanut butter and jelly. Since the Jeep is at home out on the trails and away from it all, it only makes sense that you will need somewhere to sleep. This overlanding style of adventuring is becoming a very popular way to enjoy your Jeep. The term “overlanding” is described as self-reliant adventure travel to remote destinations where the journey is the primary goal. This sounds like Jeep heaven to us. In the past, there have been stories about overlanding Jeeps, but none as awesome as AEV’s Outpost II, which made its debut at the SEMA Show.

Overlanding in a Jeep usually involves a tent of some sort. Either pitching it on the ground or popping open a roof tent and making camp each night. The AEV has an all-in-one solution for your next overlanding adventure. The Outpost II concept is a class C style of motorhome. This means the rear camper shell has a pass through into the driving compartment. The camper is made of a lightweight fiberglass shell. It also offers sleeping quarters in the pop-up roof, which lifts and tilts 45 degrees.

This type of overlanding vehicle offers you protection from the weather, or what might be out in the wild. Being able to climb into the camper means, you can stay warm and dry, even if you need to make camp in a winter storm. AEV says the rear camper is still getting the final touches. We’re hoping the final product might be revealed at The Overland Expo next year. What else did AEV do to the Outpost II concept? It features AEV’s Hemi V8 swap and a host of other AEV upgrades.
