What to Do When You Want Different Badges on Your Jeep

Badges are a very important component in building a vehicle, and can either make or break the ride it’s on.

Think of the new Hellcat, for example. That roaring cat just sits there on the side of the car, waiting to pounce. And when you open up the throttle, the badge just makes sense.

But here’s the real question about badges: Do you put them on cars or trucks that don’t match the original build?

Let’s put it this way: Everyone’s seen a Mercedes with an AMG badge, even though the car wasn’t an AMG. Is that ok? It just so happens that one of our forum members, Dodge4me, is asking this very question.

2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk

Dodge4me’s wife just bought a new Wrangler Unlimited, however, she would like to put the Rubicon decals onto the Jeep, even though it’s not an actual Rubicon. Here’s how he put it…

So we just bought our second Wrangler Unlimited for my wife. She likes the Rubicon stickers she has seen on real Rubicons, and asks if we can put one on. I told her we would need to make it hard to tell it was not an actual Rubicon, or she might get laughed at instead of waved at by other Jeeps. I told her we would need the wheels and tires along with the red rear shocks if she had any hope of pulling it off. I have already pulled the Sport stickers off. This will be a true mall crawler, so I am trying to find a “Mall Rated” badge I can replace with the trail rated one, more as a joke, than anything. So all that being said, make the wife happy, or is being a poser too much of a sin against the Jeep community?

So I put it to you good folks, what does he do?
