Maui
Planning a trip to Maui this June and was looking for some suggestions.
were do most rent jeeps when they go? any suggestions on that?
any trails that aren't challenging, won't have much of a chance of breaking stuff but has a fabulous view?
Any beaches that you recommend?
any other suggestions would be fabulous!!

We took the road to Hannah and went around the back side which is mostly dirt roads for many, many miles. The insurance company strictly forbids this but we didn't realize that until we were reading the rental agreement (after we were back).
4WD was not required.

Been to Maui a few times. It's fantastic! Did the road to Hana and went all the way around. Definitely worth it. It's an all day trip with many stops for photos and hikes. Get gas before you leave and in Hana. No other gas stations for a while.
Other than that, see the sunrise at Haleakala, it's super early and at 10,000 ft, so take a jacket. The Kula lodge and restaurant is great for post Haleakala breakfast. It is also where some of the mountain bike tours stop, so try to get there before them or wait later. The beaches around Wailea were some of my favorites. Lahaina is a great place for nightlife and restaurants.
Snorkeling at Molokini crater is great! The Iao Needle is a fun very short hike and state park. Do a luau while you are there if you have time. Many other suggestions too, but that's probably my top picks. Aloha!

So the road to Hana is a must? just a dirt road? are the insurance companies strict to that trail? or dirt roads?
Those other suggestions are great! should be a Fun to see the sunset!
I've heard that we need to worry about locals up there? many problems? maybe throw a Project JK sticker on the rental jeep do they don't pick on us

Haven't watched sunset from Haleakala, only the sunrise, but I hear sunset is good too. Definitely not as early. Sunrise is usually ~ 5:30 am, which means you have to leave your hotel about 1-2 hours before that, depending on where your hotel is located.
I stayed on Oahu for 3 months and never had a problem with anyone. Definitely don't go looking for trouble, but I don't think you should have any real problems on Maui. You will definitely see some "sky-jacked" rigs driving around the island.
The only other thing is don't ever leave anything in your jeep when you go away from it. It won't be there later.
