Default 95xj starting issues

I just bought a 95xj. The guy I bought it from says after its hot sometimes it doesn't want to start back up. If you let it cool down 10-15 minutes it starts right up. It ran great when I drove it, and it started back up a few times after. I was wondering if any one else had this issue, or thoughts on where to start looking?
thanks for any help

this sounds like a possible heat soak of one of the fuel injectors, i remember it is the #3 or #5 cylinder. this was actually a recall and the fix was extra heat shield around that injector.

On the earlier XJ's, I seem to recall the crank position sensor would sometimes keep a hot engine from starting.

Hot CPS is a common problem that will shut an XJ down and let it restart when it cools.

Turns out it was the ignition switch and the key cylinder were bad, not making a good connection. $150 and were back in business
