Default JK Wheels and tires on an XJ?

I have an '08 Sahara with the 18 inch wheels and I've been looking to upgrade my wheels and tires. My sister has a '98 XJ and she needs new tires because her treads are getting low. Would be able to fit the Sahara's wheels and tires on the XJ without any modifications? Or would it need a small lift kit or wheel spacers in order to fit them on there?

the JK lug patter is 5 on 5, i'm pretty sure the XJ lug patter is 5 on 4.5 like the TJs were, so that would be your first issue, some wheel spacer/adapters. these are readily available on ebay and while spidertrax is the best brand out there, if you do your homework plenty of the ebay brands are good too. Its important to get hubcentric ones.

the next issue is that the Sahara rim and tire from the JK is like a 32" tire, i'm not sure a stock XJ can clear that, you might need a small lift or a budget boost. 2" should be enough,

good luck, and post pics when/if you do this.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the lug pattern. I'll probably be making a trip to the local tires store soon so I will see if they know whether or not the tire will be able to clear without a small lift kit.

no a 32 will not clear without a lift... a 31 rubs with no lift...

Guess I'll have to convince my sister she needs a lift and spacers so I can get new tires .

I have a set of wheel adapters if you need them, actually have 6 of them. 5 on 5.5 to 5 on 5.4. They retail for $99 a set, I have 3 sets, (needed one for the spare). PM me if interested.
