Anyone have some advice about using ENCS?
I'm currently deployed in Iraq, with hopes to be heading back home in Early 2009. I've owned a TJ in the past, and my wife had a Liberty as well. I'm planning on buying a new JK when I get home. Does anyone have any good or bad comments about using Exchange New Car Sales (ENCS)?
Well I have heard of people ordering them early and not closeing on there end of the deal until the big rebates come out at the end of the year. They are usualy 3 thousand $ rebates by then.
The bad thing about this is it sits on their lot and everybody looking for a Jeep gets inside of it and put there dick beaters all over it.
I read some where that if you buy a jeep from them there is a 1.99 per gallon for a certain amount of time as an incentive.
Other than that I have no clue. I know I was going to buy mine from them but you can not negotiate a price and the one I wanted was out side house hold 6's price range.
Good Luck

They do have the 1.99 gas, but I think its only at AAFES, I'll have to check. Its also only for a year I believe. I think you can still get the Jeep 2.99 gas incentive as well. I looked at using ENCS last year when I bought mine, but I could not get exactly what I wanted. It sounds like they have a warehouse/lot that they store vehicles in and deliver to a dealership somewhere in your area when you get close to coming home. Pricing was pretty good.
Hey man, how’s it going? I’m over here in this wonderful sandbox as well and I ordered mine through ENCS so I’ll tell you what I know as well as what I think.
The way it works is that you order it anyway you want and as long as you choose factory options and not dealer options (side steps on a Rubicon would be a dealer option where as side steps on a Sahara is factory) they can do it. When you order it you have to make a down payment; I’m an E-5 and it was $1,000 where as an E-7 that I work with only had to pay $500. According to there policy you can back out at anytime and get your down payment refunded to you even if you get home, take one look at it and find out that you don’t like the color. I haven’t put this policy to the test but they have it in writing so I imagine that they have to stand by it. Now when you order it is not necessarily when they submit it to the factory to be built. You tell them what day you want it delivered to the dealership and they use that date in a calculation to figure out what day they need to submit the order to get it built on time but to prevent it from sitting a lot somewhere for too long. In my case I ordered it in March and told them that I want it waiting for me on 5 September. They didn’t submit it until May and it got delivered at the end of July. It will still be sitting there for about a month and a half but at least I know it’s waiting for me! They can’t ship to every dealership but they should have one close to you: I have to drive about an hour to pick mine up as opposed to 20 min so that’s not too bad.
Now for financing. If you choose to go though them you’d actually be going through Chrysler Financial so don’t think that you’re going to get a kick ass rate just because you’re military. Before you actually pick up your Jeep you have to pay ENCS and unless you do a direct transfer from your account you can’t do it at the little ENCS booth on base; you need to send the check to their office in New York. Remember that if you want to pick it up the day that you get home you better give yourself enough time while you’re here to have your bank mail you the check to sign and for you to send ENCS the check. One of the rumors that I heard before I bought mine was that you didn’t have to pay tax and well… that’s only partly true. If you have your vehicle sent to an overseas location you don’t have to pay tax while it’s there but as soon as you register it in the states you have to pay sales tax. Now if you have it sent to the states you need to remember that since you’re paying ENCS and that they’re only charging you for the vehicle; tax, tag, and title will come out of your pocket!
Promotions! As someone stated before they’re currently offering a $1.99 gas for a year promotion! The way this works is not like the one that Chrysler was offering. They take the average mileage that the average person puts on a vehicle (12,000) divided by the average fuel economy of the Wrangler (20 MPG) (12,000/20 = 600) multiplied by $1.99 (600*1.99 = 1,194). Now by my calculations the discount should be $1,194 but for some reason they give you a discount of $1,266 and I’m not about to correct them! Right now they also have a $500 rebate so if you order right now you will get a discount of $1,766 which is not too bad. Since I’ve had mine on order all they’ve had is the $500 rebate so I would jump on this current offer if you want to go through ENCS. They also have in writing that if the rebate goes up they will increase your order to the new higher rebate so you’re covered there. Someone also mentioned the $2.99 gas for a year promotion from Chrysler but this does not apply to Wranglers so that won’t work. You can also get a $500 loyalty discount if you can give them a copy of a title for a Chrysler vehicle with name on it. One thing that I did that saved me another $800 was I got a quote from jeepwarehouse.com that was exactly what I was ordering from them for $770 cheaper. Now I think I read somewhere that they will no longer do a price match for a dealership other than one in your local area but it may be worth a shot!
As for my opinions. I mistakenly thought that I could trust these people more than a regular dealer. I had originally ordered my Jeep in rescue green. In mid April I heard a rumor that Jeep was going to stop taking orders for this in early May so I went and spoke with my dealer rep. He assured me that my order had been locked in and that I was guaranteed rescue green. About mid May I got an e-mail that said that I can no longer get rescue green and that if I didn’t choose a new color immediately they were going to cancel my order! Come to find out they hadn’t placed my order to the factory and that my rep didn’t know how the system worked and instead of asking any questions he just made something up and lied to me. I called his boss and asked that I get a discount since he messed up and she basically told me that because I had already saved so much money they would rather loose me as a customer then make me happy. Since then every question has been like pulling teeth and it seems like they really don’t care about me. All in all I got a $30,000 vehicle for about $26,000 which is not too bad in my opinion. I love the fact that I saved that much money but I’m not sure that I will buy through them again. I would almost rather spend a little more money to make sure that my order isn’t messed up and to at least have them pretend like they want me to be happy.
Well I hope I gave you more info than you wanted but if I missed anything feel free to ask. - KY

You really dont need any tricks with ENCS. I bought mine while I was flying around the sandbox and was in Al Udeid, Qatar. I saved thousands under the sticker and paid about invoice which is still only a bargaining price and a moot point; however, I didnt have to haggle prices and this is the first time I feel like I didnt get ripped off. Everyone thinks they can do better but people will not budge on Rubicons.
Here is my invoice, much of your stuff will have you log into encs.com to check your order. You will see this.

After all the rebates and prior Jeep ownership discount I paid 29149
more than 3000 less then the sticker MSRP and about 4000 cheaper than here locally due to dealer mark up on RUBI's.
Let me add that this site was awesome while waiting for the build process which is another perk for military. Your Jeep will be expedited and should take less then 8 weeks to build, this was during the peak of the sales too! I ordered it in Decenber of last year and got home from the desert in February. The Jeep is given the top priority in the build. Its probably even less now. That is why I have had the encs.com in my signature since I joined. What an unreal deal!

My wife bought my unlimited through them during my last deployment as a surprise for when I got home. When she went to pick it up the dealer litteraly threw the keys at her and told her to take it. Well, it was filthy and the windshield was cracked in half. After paying to get it all taken care of, the dealer refused to re-imburse us. She called the ENCS guys and they ended up sending us a check for $1400 for the trouble. The dealer then "lost" the title information for it which ENCS also took care of for us. I couldnt have been happier. I recommend it to all the young guys that work for me when they go looking for a vehicle.

+1 ENCS has worked well for me... I got lucky and got the exact jeep I wanted minus the engine block heater. Wasn't sure about the yellow but i'll take it instead of wait another 3 months. I got the 08 Rubicon unlimited w/mygig and hardtop. I am getting it tomorrow. They kinda trick you with the advertisement "1.99 gas for a year" I should pick mine up tomorrow when it clears custom's... I cannot wait! OH yeah... get the 7 year or 70,000 extended warranty unless you plan on modding it out right off the bat. Lifetime powertrain????

Everything else you have said seems to be damn close if not right on the money.
My 09 Rubi is being built right now. Working with ENCS has been pretty good. I have just had a couple snags with the ENCS employees from overseas. I try to get answers in an e-mail and I get nothing back for days. I figured out, once they give you the NY representitive for when you get back to the states, just carbon copy any e-mails to that rep and questions get answered really quick. lol I will be getting my baby for about 4000 less than what the cost is by building it on Jeep.com and putting all the same packages on it.
If you want the best deal, get a quote now, with the 1.99 gas deal and the 500 middle east discount. Just like 08Rubicon said if the deals get better, and you can save more money you just e-mail them and they will add the discount onto your quote. I have already had them do this. I have had pretty good luck working with them. Not too bad at all. Any other questions go ahead and fire away. We will do our best to help you out.
