Ft Bliss area MILITARY NON FRIENDLY dealer
Viva Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler NOT MILITARY FRIENDLY
FYI,
The above dealership is located at I-10 and Lee Trevino here in El Paso. They are on the USAA list as a preferred dealer and that is supposed to give us additional discounts. This dealership did not honor that. In fact, they acted as though they knew nothing about this program and wouldn't even work with me on the price of the vehicle I was looking at. Yet, my wife goes into a dealership in Arlington and deals with a salesman who has been there 2 weeks and they knew about the program and immediately started knocking thousands of dollars off because of it. That is why we bought a vehicle there and not here.
So, let your Soldiers know and spread the word, AVOID VIVA DODGE,JEEP,CHRYSLER! I know I will.

I was a platoon leader a Bliss and I dismissed all of the military-friendly advertisement as a political disclaimer and nothing else. The local population hates the military with older veterans being the only exception. I checked on every deal my junior enlisted soldiers were making in that area and we talked most of them into buying vehicles back home in the towns where people know their names for serving their country. El Paso really isn't an American town. Its an annexed portion of Juarez, Mexico. People there only use the citizen privileges for work and education. They don't want any of the patriotic activity that goes with it. I got kicked out of Mr Motorcycle when my brand new CBR was in there for warranty work that took longer than a month for nothing to get done to it. I called them out on it and they threatened me referencing all the thank you plaques on their walls that garrison command office had sent out to all the participating businesses that come to post during community events. They don't understand that its not for their quality in service, its just to say thank you for coming to advertise and make tax-free apparel sales on post during sponsored events. Kinda sad. By the time I left there, we were approving long weekend mileage passes for soldiers to make a road trip or take a one-way flight to other parts of the state or other states altogether so they could pick up their new vehicles. Hopefully a megadealership firm will move into the area and shut them down. Bliss has built up so much in the last couple years that the local economy is still in their state of taking soldiers for all they've got rather than working to improve the quality of their product and service to ensure their longevity. It will change but not likely to be significant this decade.

A dealership i wouldn't recommend is Mortiz at I30 and 820 in Fort Worth. They tried to sell me a 0% loan for 32k with payments of $700 plus, you do the math. I did and it certainly didn't match up so i walked out because I fealt as if they were trying to scam me or play me for some kind of sucker. When i talked to the sales manager at Meader (were i received outstanding service) he showed me how that could be possible and that they were back loading the loan with all kinds of expenses that would cause the payments to skyrocket. All in all, the guys at Moritz are a bunch of crooks and i would never recommend them to anyone.

When i bought my new JKU 2 months ago i had a great expireance with Meader Jeep/Chrysler off I20 just off campus drive. They gave me all the USAA discounts without me even asking and a few more i didn't even know i qualified for.

As of Friday I am finally leaving Fort Bliss in my rear view mirror for Fort Benning. It is well known the El Paso is the death of cars. People here CANNOT drive and the heat eats tires. As a platoon leader and XO, I tried my best to stop local businesses from taking advantage of Soldiers. One business got a guy to pay 19% on a Mazda the Soldier didnt need! I was terrified to buy my new Jeep here, however: if u are stationed here an r looking for a Jeep the owner of Rudolph Honda is a Jeep lover and has quite a fleet. He cares for his toys and builds them well. He currently has a gorgeous, all original, in mint condition 1978 Scrambler for sale. Take a look at his Wranglers if u truly want to buy one here... If not I would look privately.

Good info, but sad, unfortunate news. If I may throw in my $.02, I'd like to remind everyone that there's another (albeit much smaller) military town 86 miles north. I showed up at Jack Key in Alamogordo (dealer's name is Pasquali, or "Pat,") with my print-out and they honored the USAA price without blinking an eye. The markdown about $3000 less than the sticker price; the order was placed with the factory within an hour and I was in my JK a month and a day later. It was by far the easiest vehicle purchase I've ever experienced. They have a dealership in Las Cruces, too, right up I-10 from you and I'm sure they'd love your business if the dealers down in El Paso don't appreciate you.
