I have 3 g-shocks, 2 of which are the touch solar. I love all three of them. One is od green with black lcd display with white numbers. The other is a bit older and is black with clear display. The tough solar charges on regular light and sunlight. I've never had a battery go below full. They rock and the one I wear everyday just had a band replacement. It looks brand new

Looking into the Suunto I found this helpfull review:
http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=73018
Yea, it's a watch forum! But helpfull. The guy reviews the Suunto X-Lander and compares it to the Casio Pathfinder PAW1200-1V. Taking a closer look at that one next and looking at the G shock. G shock seems to be popular.

Timex Ironman...?
I (still) have the old Timex Ironman Triathlon... (pre-indiglo)
Paid like 40$ around 1990, changed the battery maybe 3 times, and it still works PERFECT!!!
I lose ~5 seconds max every 6 months.
The ding sound does not work anymore.
Some guys compliment the watch once in a while when they see it, saying they had one 20 years ago...
Can you beat that?

I could save the money for the Suunto, get the timex (this time from a local shop that accepts returns for exchange and just let them deal with all the popped out dials), and put the money into a GPS that does all the things the Suunto does but better.
