Ya know....I'm really going to have to look for a good clam "fritter" recipe, as I really do love them, but for some reason I've just always fried them with seasoned bread crumbs, a little Parmesan, and flower. Or I will deep fat fry them in batter. Need to try somethin' new.... Thanks for reminding me....

My 6 year old son and I went on a head boat out of the Oregon Inlet at the Outer Banks, NC.
Only one keeper all morning on the entire boat. We actually caught a bunch of undersized flounder, some sea robins, a couple of puffer fish and pin fish.
Here is the flounder he reeled in with minimal help.

Nice "Dolly"...lol. I had to look up just exactly what a "bull" trout is. I guess it's the new name for what we still call Dolly Varden trout, or the sea run Arctic Char. But I guess it's a little different as I see the bull trout is now listed as a seperate species which is endangered. So I guess you HAD to release him. Good job....
BTW.....I don't know if you know this or not, but I don't see that your hands are wet. Whenever you plan on releasing a fish, it is always good to wet your hands before handling the fish. It's helps keep from pulling the "slime" or scales from the fish which "can" potentially harm the fish. Just somethin' to think about.

Nice fish WhiskeyJack....Which Lake in K-Country??....
I have fished many of the lakes in K-country when I was growing up in Calgary and Millarville....Upper & Lower K-lakes, Ribbon, 3 isle, Elbow, Maude, Lawson & Pickle Jar Lakes. Did lots of backpacking trips into Ribbon, 3 isle, Maude and Pickle Jar Lakes....Great scenery and great fishing!

The boy and I went halibut fishing Sunday. Not the best, but caught our limits....2 each. Caught this 30-35 pounder just before we left. Let me tell ya....fresh/never frozen halibut melts in your mouth...!!! It's never quite the same after it's frozen.......even if it's just for a little while.
