Picked this up at Camping World. The install was easy and clean.

Same thing I did. I did get a bracket and mounted it under the bumper.

Was searching for campers when we came across this hybrid for a great price. It has a dry weight of 3000. Think that would be pushing it with a full load plus the family? How conservative is the 3500 lb max tow capasity?

Are you running the Pentastar engine? If so, then you should be okay. Any good climb will be a bit of a challenge. If the old 3.8 you will be in trouble. My RV salesperson when I was shopping warned me that if I was going into the mountains that I should limit the weight to about half of the 3500#. I wound up buying a new Coleman Cobalt pop-up (1800# GVW).

I had an '08 with 6-speed and the Rocky Mountains did require a whole lot of shifting and slow speeds in the right lane. My '12 with auto pulls it without any problems.

Brought home from my shop today to the house with the jeep. Pulled better than I thought it would. Pretty stable and even at 65-70. Lot different than my truck and toy hauler. With 37 and 5:38s it actually stayed in over drive on the flats and a little breezy today. Title says it only weighs 2000 dry. Bout right!

It's really great, these kinds of things are used when you are professionally a camper, i personally prefer using tents on camping because i don't want to use this much money for spending some days on vacations.
