Default Homebuilt Teardrop

Just picked this up a few weeks ago on Craigslist. Homebuilt on a Harbor Freight frame. We just applied an overskin and will use a while before replacing the axle with a heavier duty Dexter unit with 5x4.5 bolt pattern. I will use a pair of wheel spacer/adapters to fit JK wheels and tires. As it sits now, the whole thing weighs less than 1,000 lbs. and doesn't even need to be licensed here in Oregon.

5.38 is a gear ratio

Sahara's are 3.73
Rubicon's are 4.10

Default First night out

It's still deer season here, so I got it together and took the teardrop up some logging roads behind the JK for the first time to our private camp ground on the tree farm. Comfy for the dog and me.

I was thinking of doing the exact same thing with a HF trailer. I bet there's plans out there already.

I can't figure how to put the 5th wheel hitch in it LOL!!! Seriously, we had the camper before we got back into Jeeps. Now I am re-thinking the camper situation. Thanks

I got to tow the camper with the 5.38's for a distance. It tows great now. 3.5 inch lift and 35's. SOA on the trailer. No issues.
