Default Light Travel Trailers?

So, I am looking at getting something to tow behind my Jeep 4dr (3.73), what is the top weight you'd suggest as manageable for tow distances of 400+ miles? I don't want to destroy my Jeep by any means.

I've been looking at some of these in the 2500-2800lb range. Thoughts?

I'm just a professional nobody, but I don't think anything in that weight range is going to hurt the Jeep.

I used to have a little ford ranger and i towed a pop up tent trailer all over the place, many trips down to Baja, id say around 700 miles round trip. Their was also 2 yamahas in the back of the truck, 30 gallon barrel of water and a generator along with other stuff. I put little air bags on the back axle to lift it back up so it was level. Had that ranger for some time, tell i traded it in to get my jeep
So i would think a jeep would have some what of a towing capacity for a smaller trailer, not saying a 5000lb boat or somthing like that. Thats just my couple of pesos....

Check out the Kamparoo. I bought one last year and love it. Dry they are 800 lbs I think. They are pretty basic but very light and versatile.

Pop-Ups are nice because they have a low profile for towing, the wind won't be able to move you around in a crosswind, or rob mpg in a headwind. If you want to take it "off road", then a higher ground clearance and stronger componets of a "Tent " trailer might be better (more $ though) Remember to keep total loaded weight in mind ; weight of trailer, stuff in/on it and the load in the tow vehicle. Fun!

Default Coleman Cobalt

Light yes but still a bit of a challenge up and over Vail Pass. Lots of downshifting. Small but fine for 2 and a big dog.

Default Jayco

I've came across this trailer recently. Looks pretty nice and Jayco's are well built.
