Bald Mountain Info
I'm heading to Bald Mountain for the first time, and don't know exactly what to expect. I do have the Well's book. Has anyone that's been there also been to Moab and could compare it for difficulty to trails there? I've done Fins n' Things, Elephant Hill, and Top of the World in Moab. Wondering how Bald Mountain compares for difficulty. Are the north and south trails comparable or is one more difficult than the other? Which trail (north or south) are Hollywood Hill, V Rock, and Posie on? Are all the obstacles mandatory, or are there bypasses for some of them? Will I have any issues in a 2-dr. Rubicon with 2" lift and 33's? I have no interest in body damage, taking major risks or having my husband yelling at me for picking too difficult of a trail!

Bald Mtn is a easy trail over all. What makes it difficult is the obstacles on the trail for example V-rock. You have to find it off the main trail (which isn't to far off) and you can go up it easy or you can go super difficult which would require 37's plus. I've haven't been to Moab yet but I would assume it's much easier than that (Compared to video's I've seen). To answer you question about Hollywood, V rock and others, there off the main trail. Good sight seeing and over all a good trail just to get out and camp. There are other trails that get hard fast, for example Swamp Lake Trail.
There was also another obstacle, a huge rock. The 4Runner pulled up onto it, but decided not to go up and over. We didn't see Posie Hill. After Bald Mountain we headed to Brewer Lake.
Thanks for the info. We ended up going and had a great time. We met a couple of Toyota's (4Runner and older truck) at the trailhead, and they let us tag along. Good thing, because we may have got lost otherwise. We definitely would have missed Hollywood Hill. We did the boulder at the beginning and Hollywood Hill. They did those, plus V-Rock. They made it look easy, but they were on 35's with big lifts. I'm running on 33's and about 2" front lift and 1.5" rear in a 2-dr. Could I have made it up with my setup? It looked like I wouldn't have the clearance, and also looked like a failed attempt could cause some real damage, which I'm not into.
