Campfire restrictions have been removed in the highest wood cutting area only, area 533. If you have a firewood cutting map, look at it. The signs are on the side of the road as you drive up too.

 

This last weekend wheeled Spanish Trail and camped. Forest departement said they lifted it there. Got the permit and had a campfire.

 

Doesn't seem right without a campfire, huh?

 

We've had a 3 day annual trip to Bald Mtn Base Camp the last couple of years and it's been hard to get people to go because of the fire restrictions.

Here's a map I found online that shows areas 528 through 533 (scroll to bottom). Didn't know 532 stretched as far as it does.
